Jersey European Airways (JEA) started on 1 November 1979, after taking over the operations of Intra Airways. Jersey European Airways was the thought up by John Habin, a Jersey resident. The airline rebranded as British European in 06/2000, then shortened this name to Flybe on 18/07/2002.
